A bunch of drawers that draw.
My sincere apologies to the 'model' for this substandard watercolor, but I just had to share it. I'm also grateful to the photographer, whom I cannot name, but it was taken in one of the many Jam sessions - so probably someone will recognize it. The ref (the actual face that I had to paint from) was very small - approx 60 - 70 pixels, which may have contributed to the 'substandard-ness', but no excuses - really!
15" x 11" watercolor on handmade paper. Thank you so much for looking!

Comment by Prosenjit Roy on September 1, 2012 at 4:53am Hi Sarat, many thanks for bringing this up. I tell you, the gentleman in question is much (much!) more artistic in person, than he is as my watercolor art :)
Smiles @ Priya and Anil - sorry for the (very) late response :/

Comment by Prosenjit Roy on June 16, 2011 at 2:51pm Hi Sneha, Hi Smitha - so glad to see you here :) The workshop remains visibly etched in my mind! Thank you for your kind comments.
Hi Ira - Thank you a LOT! You're too generous :) I think the anatomy you mentioned is because of the position of the head, how its pressing down upon the neck while looking downwards.

Comment by Prosenjit Roy on June 14, 2011 at 9:39pm Haha! I'm so glad (and honored!) that you all would find this portrait a center around which to discuss other things. Please don't worry about it and continue to do so, the pleasure is all mine. Btw, let's not forget the real credit for this 'congregational' joy goes to the photographer (is that Priya???) and of course the model!
@ Priya re: substandard - ahh, well, a number of things have gone wrong which I wish it hadn't. I don't remember what they are now, but I wasn't very satisfied with it once it was finished. LOL @ copier paper.. how did you know :D . Let me admit, for my rough sketches I still use copier paper, although of the highest quality I can find/afford and of A3 size. But really, not using costlier paper for rough studies is a good advice, because then one doesn't have to worry about crumpling it up and throwing it away. Thanks a lot for dropping by!
@ Prabha - "I have started observing your trademark strokes better." Oh that's just wonderful, I'm humbled and inspired. Thank you Prabha!
@ Runa - Hi! I googled Stabin. Thanks so much for extending my watercoloring experience and also for your kind comment :)
@ Hi Dinesh, that's a great toon! I'm (yes, yes.. I'm repeating myself, but its very true!) so honored that you'd choose to put it there :) Thanks!
Ladies and Gentlemen, so great of you to come back and comment... I'm grateful!
