@Rashmi, surely Soman is the right person to answer your question about realistic memory drawing... but if you want to learn a bit about 'tooning people from memory, perhaps i can give you a tip or two at the next jam. Or better still, we could try it out 'live' :o)

All from memory? How do you do it? Can you also remember faces and draw them? Asking cos I was watching some thriller where an artist draws the criminal's face from memory...was wondering how to develop that skill :)

Thank you Usha jee and Prosenjit daa!

@Prosenjit: Thank you for the really well written matter on how its important to develop the skill to recollect and visually see what one is up to before starting on a work from memory. And so very true your words are - like a "mantra".

Btw, I really did mean 'rhinosaurus', and not rhinoceros :P

Just wonderful! Never let go of your powerful visual recall, Soman... is all I can humbly say. That is a major area of talent, apart from technical skills. In order to draw/paint what we perceive inwardly, we need to first 'see' it clearly...  the ability to do that can be developed through practice, or quickly lost through dis-use, or over-dependence on the external/manifest reality. The latter has its limitations (can we see a rhinosaurus fly?... we can't, not 'externally' that is!), while the 'inner' world is limitless, both in extent and possibilities. No rules apply there, except those laid down by the artist, who is its creator. In there, you are king, or god or both! :)
