A bunch of drawers that draw.
Please SCROLL to the bottom of this post to see seven more sketches. You may also find them here: One, Two, Three, Four, Five(this one seems to have disappeared in the main thread - photobucket gremlins!), Six, Seven.
Many thanks to Pencil Jammers for organizing this trip... seeing the pictures itself is so very inspiring - esp for people who live far away! And to the wonderful PJ'ers who made it all a huge success by participating. I couldn't help myself but go on a sketching spree. I'm totally grateful to Sridhar Comaravalli and Paranirajan for their wonderful pictures, which I've used as reference for my studies. I hope I'm forgiven for not asking their permission first - I was in a headlong rush!
All are on A3 size paper, using a combination of conte, watercolor (mainly for BG washes), watersoluble pencils.
Thanks for looking, please view in FULL SIZE

Comment by Prosenjit Roy on October 15, 2012 at 4:45pm Okay, this is quite an old thread, but thank you for reviving and commenting upon it - Jagadish, Prabha and Mukund (my apologies for the very late response).
Prabha, that sketch of yours seems to have disappeared - probably a corrupted file in the image server. So I'll re-embed it below. As regards grace and class... well, all I did was study the original, so full credit is due where it came from :)

I think its time for this one to 'sink'... I'm kind of embarrassed to see its still up here. Thanks Manu, I'm so glad you found something useful in this :)
Comment by Manu Sosa Núñez on June 24, 2012 at 12:48am Wow! They are stunning! Much to learn from them...
Comment by Prosenjit Roy on June 23, 2012 at 9:51am Aww... Anil, you absolutely must proceed with your sketches. I totally love to see the sense of build up in your work, each is like a story unto itself, there is so much to learn! Thank you for your kind comment :) Oh, I had no idea Maitreya was related to you... son? The pleasure, as said previously, was alllll mine!
Dhruba, so very kind of you to drop by and leave a comment, and fave :) Danke!
Gratitude also to Shruti for the fave!

Comment by J L Anil Kumar on June 21, 2012 at 8:11am This is an incredible (I use the word knowingly) series of sketches Dada! When I saw the superb series of photographs from all the other jammers, I planned to do some sketches too. But you almost blocked me! But I will work up the courage to do it soon! AND keep your superb works as the aim - not for copying! Many thanks - no counting how many times I have seen them.
And Maitreya has been honoured by being sketched too!
Many thanks for the pleasure Dada
Comment by Prosenjit Roy on June 21, 2012 at 1:26am Thank you so much Akhila, Nicola, Asha, Dinesh and Sridhar for your kind comments. And also to Nandita and Rashmi for the faves... I hope no one is left out in my gratitude list :)
Sridhar(Ji) - the pleasure is all mine! It'd be an honor to be on your FB page :)
Dinesh Sir - with your talent at 'twisting' reality, I can't wait for you to try out a few portraits. Remember Prabha's brilliant cartoony modifications?! Thanks to YOU and the others, for making this memorable for me.
Akhila - @ 'Pro'... being 'pro' has both its pros and cons. Although, I must say, the feedback from fellow-artists make up for the cons :)
Ahh, I'm glad you've already located Sridhar's photos, Asha. Thanks for asking though.
Comment by Sridhar Comaravalli on June 20, 2012 at 7:29am Excellent work Prosenjit. I am so happy for you that my clicks have helped you in your creations. Truly awesome. I just loved the pic of mine and am going to post it in FB. I hope you would not mind that! Hats off. Wishing you the very best in your artistic journey!
