Tell us a little bit about yourself.: Hello my name is Charu.I am mother of 2 children.painting is my hobby and passion.so i have promised myself i am not going to leave this passion .when i paint something i feel so relaxed and calm. MY favourite medium is water color and pastels ,trying 2 learn acrylic also:)

ur colors r really good. i wud suggest to put some more time on drawing. that will help u a lot... just as an exercise for do 5 pencil work before one color for few days, u will c the difference.

Hi Charu, you'll of course get a more comprehensive answer if you google that phrase, but I'll try to explain from personal experience. A crayon is more waxy in nature i.e. the pigment particles are suspended in a waxy binder. The colors are less intense than with good quality oil pastels. There is a kind of crayons which I've used, which is water-soluble. Google 'watersoluble crayons' if you're interested.

Oil pastels are more oily in nature, that is the pigments are suspended in a non-drying oily medium (apart from fillers and stuff which provide bulk). There is also some wax binder but less than in crayons. They are different from 'pastels' (dry pastels) in that the former is powdery in nature, and the later has a oily/waxy feel.
