So me and some friends decided to start a group a few months ago called the bangalore wallflowers, inspired by and in collaboration with the Bombay Wall Project.
What do we do? We go around painting walls in Bangalore (not to be confused for those super psychedelic bbmp walls)
We primarily (though not always) work with "non-artists" or people who would generally be paint-shy because we believe there's nothing more relaxing and confidence boosting than letting go of inhibitions and painting a wall. :) It's a community project, in the sense that we work with Children from varied backgrounds and try and involve people from around the neighbourhood to contribute conceptually if not by getting their hands dirty.
and we do it for free and for love. It's not vandalism or graffiti. It is an active exchange between the owner of the wall, the community and the artist. So permission is essential.
So if anyone in this group would like to trade their pencil for an apron and some buckets of paint for a day- Let me know.
Will post events on this thread. And if anyone has any walls in mind- do let us know!
Right now we have Little Koshys, a Public school in Jakkur, and a few more lined up.
and take a look at some of the scribblesh we've been upto. :) http://bangalorewonderwall.blogspot.com/http://bangalorewonderwall.blogspot.com/
