Hurray! We met our other companions of life today :D Yes! Hippo's, Pelicans, Peacocks, Cockatoo's , Big cats and more ! We had a lovely time taking this journey, here are few pictures to summarize the fun. Sketches will be up soon!
We started with the all famous dosa :)
We all had to step into this water before entering, some kind of antiseptic to kill germs we could take in.
The Pelikans : This felt like old people having a group discussion.
Drawing this is a challenge! I know Amit thinks it's a piece of cake!
This guy was out there , luckily not many people stopped by to stare at him !
We took a short tea break, George documenting Amit's amazing gestures!
Dintoons's awesome point of view :D
Nandita's brilliant pen and watercolour works - Phew hat's off! she actually got those colors out :)
None could stop sketching during the break!
Before heading out, we met again and exchanged notes and sketches.
Then it was time for lunch at 2:30
Got some profiles during lunch, Dayal, Nandita, Mohan and Nandita Saha :)
Yes, a sneak peak to our sketches....
Nirupam and george you missed the group pic :(
Anyway, Thanks all! For a great day. I dint upload many animal images, trust me the sketches everyone did captured more! So go ahead and post them :)

Wow, these sketches are really dynamic and full of energy :o
Tis' amazing how your lines flow in and out. Pretty smooth :D
Thank you Abhishek. I could do with more practice.
OMG! Lovely sketches Dinesh.. that is a whole lot of sketches! (Smitha thinks : I must rob that book next time)
Nandita - how did you get such upclose shots of the leopard.. i tried but failed miserably :( many of your images dont have the cage..did you cross the human cage border?
@abhishek - nice to see the sketches up here :) For your first ever live sketching, great works! The hippo and the snake are well captured gestures.
@ Mohan - Lovely work esp the deer! i did not reach the deer this time - few too many breaks or perhaps juggling camera and sketching needs more time :P
Haha, thanks Smitha! And great to see your sketches after a looong time :D Did that hippo really try crossing the wall?? Superb ostrich, as are the macaws. Tempted to do a toony version of that owl :)
Thanks Din :) Hehe.. that owl was actually opening one eye to check if there are too many people and was going back to sleep. It looked so cute with the one eye open! A toon of that will be great! Hippo was not crossing - with such a heavy body guess it helped balancing the weight. :P
Here you go O,--
:)
The Drawing Tool-kit : I bundle a few newsprint for quick gestures, this time I carried it for the jam and clipped it to my sketchbook for easy access. I used only 6b & 8b steadler pencil. I was lugging my big camera and found myself tangled up with bag handles often! But the camera proved useful :)
Here are few sketches,in order of my exploration :) Very rough and dirty gestures !
Then I moved to use only the 6B pencil, as I realized the contours were a bit too dark.
Smitha, all your sketches really capture the animals and birds, the gestures very well. Loved the Ostrich study - you guys were there for a while. The hippos too are great. They were in the tank when I reached there.
wonderful sketches smitha..ostrich come out very well, happy to see ur works after long time as dinesh said..
