I recently posted a sketch of the Arch Bridge at Hedingham here as well as on my Facebook page. An FB viewer enquired whether this was near a church in Stratford upon Avon. Since I had sketched the bridge from a reference photograph I had no idea if it was anywhere near Shakespeare's birthplace. So I surfed the net on my phone and in the process I saw several lovely images of this beautiful church. I liked it so much that I spent my lunch break making this sketch with a marker pen.

  • Thank you very much Prosenjit. I used an inkwash to get the gray tones.

  • As always, done with deep understanding of structural forms. Love how with just 2 or 3 vertical lines on its side,  you've expressed the perspective of the building in the front. I'm wondering about the light gray tones... finger smudge, old worn out marker, water-wash...?
