Acrylic paints on 20” by 24” stretched canvas
I have a fascination for stone sculptures and idols, especially of Lord Buddha and Lord Ganesha. This painting was inspired by a Buddha photograph clicked by a New York-based photographer, Josh Bulriss. The Buddha sculpture in the photograph was made of stone and was smeared with various colors that gave it a different personality. I wanted to replicate it on canvas, but with my own style and color combinations. The result was achieved using stippling technique through heavy body acrylic paints and hard bristled brush.
